There is some buzz around certain Internet Marketing circles around the coolest guy on the planet search phrase. Apparently, making top spot for this seems like the Holy Grail to some.

Of course, the search phrase in itself doesn’t hold any real value. Who is really typing those words into the search engines in order to buy something? The only ones who are actually doing it are probably the ones who constantly check their rankings in order to see if they’ve become the coolest in the meantime.

This page is my own attempt to be the coolest guy on the planet. Well, at least in Google’s eyes. Currently, there are two different blogs ranking #1 for the search phrases: “coolest guy on the planet” and “the coolest guy on the planet”. Some people who are SEO newbies think that taking #1 for this phrase is such a big accomplishment. Of course, now it has become more difficult to rank at #1 for this phrase because of the artificial competition.

Some numbers now. Today, July 14th 2008, the numbers show:

163,000 for the coolest guy on the planet;

17,500 for “the coolest guy on the planet”;

2,360 for allintitle:coolest guy on the planet.

These numbers tell me that getting into top 10 will be fairly easy, but taking the top spot will take some months, because I will not really put much work into this, as I have too much to do as it is. And even if I do get to #1, it will not make me the coolest guy on the planet. Not on Earth, Mars, or any other world or solar system.
