Or maybe try using KeywordSpy - a keyword research technology that will help you know what keywords your competitors are using and how it generates money for them, you can use those keywords to drive traffic to your site and give your business the exposure it needs. So the keywords that you can gather is a tested and proven. It offers Free trials.

It goes with a ClickBank Affiliates Search Engine where you can see the actual market landscape at ClickBank.

heh :) nice post as always, thanks for the tips btw you gave me privately.
It's a risk though to optimize a site for a keyword and then discover it has 0 traffic. I think it can work out only for real short common words structure, probably keywords which consists of 2 words max, otherwise you are risking your project.

Yes Karl, if you can afford to hire people and train them well, you can go after the really competitive keywords, the ones that are going to give you incredible exposure.

I think it also depends on other factors. For example if you can hire people you can target a lot of keywords fast. But in my case I started with just one main keyword and three others. The main had couple thousands competing sites in yahoo. Also note my goal was to make money to then use it to hire people... But when I hired people and knew better about seo I could work on multiple keywords at once. Most sites competing hardly know what seo is about.
