It's a risk though to optimize a site for a keyword and then discover it has 0 traffic. For example if you can hire people you can target a lot of keywords fast. But in my case I started with just one main keyword and three others. The main had couple thousands competing sites in yahoo. Also note my goal was to make money to then use it to hire people... But when I hired people and knew better about seo I could work on multiple keywords at once.
